You can’t drive more than 85 miles without reaching a lake in Michigan. I mean they call it the ‘great lakes state’ for a reason! It’s filled with music, nature, and Midwestern charm.

What a great state to see- but what if you can’t see? What about if you’re a 12-year-old African American girl, with only your seeing eye dog as a companion, who grew up in suburbia with parents that were too busy climbing the social ladder than to pay attention to what you were doing?

Aggie Brown can’t appreciate her world visually so she records sounds. She pretty much records her life, a collection of harmonies, melodies, and even cacophonies. When she meets a friend from across the pond, Faith, whose family just so happens to be involved in the KKK. Their worlds collide revealing the beautiful and ugly truth of life.

In Purely, a feature length film, we will experience the sounds of friendship, reality, and appreciation.
